A few photos of my vintage Robert the Robot toy. Sadly, his internal record is broken,so he no longer speaks, and the light in his head is missing, but he still moves, of a fashion, and still looks good after all this time.
I love this robot Scoop but never had one. They're known as skirt robots aren't they? Amazing that you still have the box. I agree, he still looks great. This is the photo stamp I meant. Like it!
I wasn't aware robots like Robert were referred to as skirt robots, good to know, Woodsy. I did the photo name stamp using an Iron Man font just to keep the robot - like theme.(before the pedants jump in I know Iron Man isn't a robot ;D)
I've still got a few old copies of the Lion comic from the fifties and early sixties, mainly for the Captain Condor strip. In the early issues Robot Archie is known as The Jungle Robot. I enjoyed his later, more sci-fi type adventures.
There's some famous illustrations of Robert the Robot and a boy wearing huge goggles by Paolozzi. They maybe based on an earlier marketing photograph but I'm not sure https://wsimag.com/art/23119-eduardo-paolozzi

DeleteIron Man wasn't a robot but early drawings of him looked like Robot Archie in Lion Comic in the 50's.
DeleteKid will have something to saw about that comment.
