BOND IN MOTION PHOTOS

I was hoping to revisit the Bond in Motion exhibition last April to check out the exhibits relating to Daniel Craig's final outing as the British super spy, in the latest Bond extravaganza, No Time To Die, but sadly the Covid 19 crisis put paid to that. The film, as most Bond fans will know has had it's cinema release date altered from last year, and is currently stated to have its cinematic release on April 2nd, although there are rumours circulating that the date may be altered yet again to November. Some have argued in favour of offering the film to television streaming services, with a figure of $600 million for a one-year licencsing deal mentioned. Thankfully, that rumour has been quashed by MGM. Personally, I'd much prefer to see the film as it was intended, on the big screen; the question now, is when?

  1. Great photos. And what an uncanny resemblance you have to Sean Connery, Scoop. (What do you mean? Of course it's you.) If you want to see the DB5 when it was in Glasgow, jump over to my blog and type 'James Bond's Aston Martin D.B.5 In Glasgow...' into the blog's search box.

And it's 'The 1966 Batmobile In Glasgow...' if you'd like to see that.

    1. Thanks Kid. Ha,ha! Would you believe myself and a young Sean Connery are as two peas in a pod for sure! Na! I didn't think you would.
I'll check out your DB5 and Batmobile Glasgow connection later, cheers.

It was especially nice to see the Moonraker Shuttle in US Marines markings. Usually models carry the Drax Shuttle markings, so this makes a welcome change. All great photos.

    1. There was a few surviving parts from the Space Station too, Paul, which still had some visible burn marks following it's explosive demise.

  3. I've just read that the exhibition is now permanently closed, and the cars have been moved out apparently. Sad news for Bond fans.

I decided not to visit the Bond in Motion exhibition the last time I was in the UK. I felt the entry price was too high and the one thing I really wanted to see, Little Nellie was visible from the door, so I got my fill for free!
If I'd known they also had filming miniatures on display, I would have coughed up the loot!

I'm currently in NO TIME TO DIE frenzy! I was looking at the old Gilbert 007 road race set and thinking how I'd love one of those, but the eBay prices are so high and I'd feel like a barbarian playing with a 50 year old toy...
Luckily Scalectrix has released a NTTD set in their Micro range, featuring the classic Aston Martin.
I bought it and got a second hand Batman set on eBay for $35!
I've made one big set that sits on a 1200mm square base. I'm currently designing laser cut buildings and I'm going to replicate the Gilbert set using the mountain top Italian town of Matera as the scene for the chase!

    Stay tuned for pictures!

    1. Definitely a missed opportunity for you, Lewis. I visited the exhibition twice and each time there were different exhibits including miniatures of submarines and helicopters. As a diversion from Bond there was even a large highly detailed model of Chitty,Chitty, Bang, Bang too.
