'WARGAMES' 16/12 HAWK

Some more photos I've posted before showing the 16/12 prototype Hawk from the Space:1999 episode, 'Wargames'. As some will be aware, 16/12 have issued an update, that this, along with the 'damaged' Eagle, which forms part of the 'episode' set, are ready for full production, once test shots and any amendments are approved. The same applies to the new 'Dragon's Domain' set, which will feature the Ultra Probe Command Module.
And for anyone who's interested, here's a less than dynamic 'behind the scenes' shot.

  2. Again beautiful photos Mike. I've got a Konami Hawk, which sits next to a similar scale Zero-X [Aoshima] - They look great together, even if the Zero-X dwarfs it. But then again, isn't the Hawks' cockpit supposed to be similar in size to the real life Vulcans'? In as much as you wore it rather then sat in it!

    1. Not heard that analogy about the size of the cockpits, Bill. Interesting. The Hawk beak certainly does look a lot thinner than the Eagle, so assuming the models are 1:48ish scale you could be right. I suppose the best way is to compare an in scale model of the Vulcan and the Hawk.

The behind the scenes shot is the best, great to see how you got such beautiful photos. I love the swirling clouds effect. Great photos with a minimum of props.

  5. Your work always has great depth of field for such small set ups Scoop. Love your coloured lighting gels too. They give the shots a TV 21 comic strip like dynamism.
    Keep em coming.

    1. Thanks Mish. I get quite a few photo ideas from TV21. My camera is a mid range DSLR, which has enough settings to get my desired result.
The lighting is actually achieved by a couple of movable LED lamps, and putting different coloured plastic aerosol can tops on an old mobile phone torch. Low tech and not sophticated, but great fun to experiment with.
