What a coincidence! We've just finished watching a DVD of The Nightmare Before Christmas as our Chrissy movie (after having watched the Queen's speech and some of the Royal Command Performance on TV) A Bond movie as a Christmas thing has never been a thing on Aussie TV!
Hmmm, I personally think Ed Wood is either #2 or #1! But if I was stuck on a desert Island with only one Burton film, TNBC would never grow old. I only just noticed on this viewing, that when Jack Skellington is introduced, he swings vertically out of his coffin in a direct reference to Murnau's Nosferatu! I love Ed Wood because it's probably Martin Landau's greatest role (although Tucker and North by Northwest are strong contenders!)
I've never seen Ed Wood Looey. I will have to rectify that this coming year. Yes, I see what you mean about Nosferatu and Jack! Such a great film, a monster fan's dream! Have you seen the old Mad Monster Party film?

ReplyDeleteIt is a brilliant film isn't it Looey. With batman 1989 number one I would say TNBC is Tim Burton's next best movie. Do you agree?
