The Music Box Steps: Laurel and Hardy's Location

Hi Woodsy,
While looking up Bronson Cave location (the Bat Cave) last month, I came across another short video by same the team, this time on the location of the steps used in the classic Laurel and Hardy short The Music Box (1932).

In this they had to carry a piano up a very long flight of steps. The clip shows the steps as they are today, with a lot more foliage along the sides - when Laurel and Hardy filmed at the site it was much more open.

Part of the Oddity Odysseys series, which looks interesting.

  1. Love this video.
The original movie is an American comedy and cultural classic.
If it were up to me, I'd demolish all the new build and growth around the steps and re-enstate it's original condition.
Failing that, I'm just glad it's still there.
    Mish.

    1. Maybe there's a blue plaque on it if such a thing exists in the States. Watched a documentary about Jerry Lewis last night and old Stan and Ollie were an inspiration for him too. I'd forgotten just how much of a superstar Jerry was in the forties and fifties. Teamed up with Dean martin he went mega.
