A few photos I've previously posted showing my old scratchbuilt Fireball XL5. It's made from wood and plasticard, with a little vac forming for the cockpit cover, and the secondary conrol room blister.
obviously, I take my inspiration from the old TV21 covers taken by resident Century 21 photographer, Doug Luke along with the art of the great Mike Noble.
I feel kids are missing out with animated series instead of these classics. Fireball XL5 was a must see, as were all similar shows
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, Khusru. For us grown up kids, Fireball is still a great series.
DeleteI really like those. That's a nice model too.
ReplyDeleteCheers Kev. I really should get back into scratch building, but I've got quite a few plastic kits to get through first.;)
DeleteNice model- always an XL5 fan!
ReplyDeleteThanks Andy, built quite a few years ago now,but like you I'm still an XL5 fan.
DeleteSuperb. Wrap it up (carefully) and send it to me right away.
ReplyDeleteHa,ha! Thanks Kid. I'll do that right away, although the post isn't too reliable around here.;)
DeleteLuv this! Fireball Getting an MPC Fireball XL-5 has been on my bucket list for years. But then so is becoming a millionaire and one needs to follow the other as it's going to take a lot of dinero to buy one of these now!
ReplyDeleteThe MPC Fireball is a great toy, although as you say, they do seem to be extremely expensive these days.:(
DeleteI wish they'd hurry up and colourise the whole series. That way, it might be shown on the BBC and lead to a whole lot of new merchandise, as happened with Thunderbirds back in the early '90s.
ReplyDeleteI'd love the series to be colourised, Kid. I wonder if the costs involved have come down? We have the colour cinema adverts, and the single colourised Network episode, and prior to that I've seen part of the first episode done. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
