The astronauts who walked on the moon did say that. The dust got everywhere so when they removed their helmets back in the LEM they could smell it. Apparently it is also abrasive and can damage equipment, including the wrist seals for their gloves!
Didn't some of the astronauts end up with lung conditions as a result of contact with the fine moon dust? Also I think a similar question was asked on Qi, "What does the universe smell of?" And its a similar answer,spent fireworks or Christmas crackers - MJ Southcoast base
Fascinating. The universe smalls of christmas crackers! God's little gift. Somewhere there's a planet shaped like a pair of nail clippers or a whistle! ha ha
