GIPLAM PLASTIC 1

The Giplam car ferry. Plastic fantastic!

I bought one of these in Germany about 8 years ago.

Do you like this Italian gem?

I remember the car ferry, but didn't have it. The bath toy I DO remember was a polythene tug/fireboat with a water cannon on the bow.
When you pumped the smokestack up and down the cannon squirted water!
I remember dismantling and reassembling it to see how it worked!

    2. There was a fireboat that looked like this made by Tudor Rose in the 50's. It was great bath time fun.

I saw the ferry and carrier on sale in Venice some years ago but the vendor wasn't there the next time I passed so wasn't able to buy them.

  2. Great- reminds me of the sort of boats I used to have at the seaside. Always losing small bits in the sea.

Woodsy, that's the exact one! As I remember it, mine had a red hull, yellow deck and blue cannon!
Funny how those memories trigger others. It's reminded me of a diving set from the same period. I'll go ask Mr. Google...
