Do you have any of these comics? Their magic Dinky mini Stripey was rather dazzling too! Did or do you have one? This playworn Stripey was pictured on Worthpoint on an old sale.
You need to give them a penny Kid! Those puppets have always reminded me of the children in the midwich cuckoos! But I suppose the comic was for kids and not adults whove seen too many sci fi flicks!
The Autons first appeared in the opening Jon Pertwee story, Spearhead From Space (1970), and then in Terror of the Autons (1971), each story comprising four episdoes. The Sea Devils appeared in 1972, so the Autons were a little earlier. They were humanoid robots with blank, mask-like faces. Often disguised as store dummies, and the scenes of them bursting out of shop windows was a bit scary.
Ooer. Please - make the scary children go away.

DeleteI always think of the Autons - killer robots - in Doctor Who, but that may have been a little later than Candy and Andy.
ReplyDeleteDon't remember them Paul. Were they around the time of the Sea Devils?

ReplyDeleteThey do sound like creepy dummies Paul. I'll have to look them up!
