MISH AND HIS DINOSAURS

Hi Woodsy.

As you liked my school Space Project drawings, here, attached, are some from my later Dinosaur one. I was probably about 14 at the time.
I started off with felt pen illustrations, as before, but moved on to painted ones, using water based poster paints.

A couple of them, the Allosaurus and the Triceratops, were done using Aurora Prehistoric Scenes kits and box art as reference material.

Hope you like them and feel they're fit to show.

All the best,
Mish

The Triceratops is really first class - not a fellow you would want to met stepping out of your Time Machine.

  2. I agree, all excellent Mish. You were a first rate artist at age 14! The colour combinations are so attractive, I can see these paintings on coasters or table mats or covers!

  3. Thanks again guys.
The Allosaurus was, in effect, a'still life' of the Aurora kit, posed on a cupboard in my teenage bedroom, whereas the Triceratops was a straight copy of the box art on the lid of that kit (though not a tracing, I might add).

  5. I probably copied the Dimetrodon from a school library reference book, like a Ladybird or How and Why book.

  6. Actually Wotan, I have just found it in a book called 'Dinosaurs of the Earth', which was a Nugget Nature book, published by Collins in 1972.

    1. Wow Mish, I adored that book as I did all my dinosaur books. I always thought the photographic cover was stunning. I made a point of re-location all my old Dinosaur books at car boot sales a few years back and I think I have them all back now, including this one. A small world eh!
