Into The Space Age

As a postscript to my Kellogg's cereal premium posts, here is a look at the U.K models available in Sugar Smacks around 1970. In the US, there were two extra models, a lacklustre Astronaut figure and a large spidery Radar Dish. I much prefer the excellent UK lineup, which is shown here with another space premium from R & L, a whistle in the shape of a space shuttle.

Moon Rover or Molab
Apollo Command and Service Module and LEM
Hooty Toots Shuttle Whistle and Mercury Atlas Rocket on Gantry

Rocket Transporter and Atlas

  1. I well remember these, I had most of them. I got the molab recently. Good stuff.

I loved these as a kid in the UK and as a young teen in Australia on their reissue.
I never realised the rings on the space station wete meant to hold a piece of thread that went all the way through the model!

    1. I got mine loose, so didn't get the rings. But it makes sense now!
