THE GREAT AMERICAN WINDSCREEN FROG

Hello Woodsy

Here are the photos my wife took of the frog on our car.
How he leapt onto a car going 35mph goes unanswered!

  1. What a handsome fella. (Me, I mean.) Nah, the frog. Is he a frog or a toad though? He looks a bit toadish to me.

  2. ha ha. What's all that gubbins below Mr. Frog Toad?

  3. The gubbins is seed pods, leaves and pollen from a Connecticut Spring!

Yesterday morning I washed the car and two hours later it was covered in yellow pollen some of which stuck to the remaining wet patches.

Frog or toad? Lumpy enough to be a toad but somehow calling him/her that sounds insulting.

    2. Surely it would only be insulting if he was a frog and not a toad? And if he IS a toad, he'd be insulted being called a frog. Doh, my head hurts.

  4. As a teen, me and a pal had a faux-Monty Python sketch, which went something like this:

ME: "Oh no, there are frogs all over the rear window!"

HIM: "Well, then, just turn on the Rear Window Defrogger!"

    Sounded better in person...

    1. ha ha, I like that Zigg. Wasn't there a toy character called Frogger? I recall a board game.

  5. I don't know of a board game but there was an arcade video game called Frogger where a frog has to cross a road with many lanes of traffic. There is a funny episode of SEINFELD where George discovers a machine in a pizzeria and tries to take it home. Crossing the street with the machine is filmed with the actions of the frog from the game.

    1. Never seen Seinfeld or the other one, Curb Your Enthusiasm Terran. That episode sounds good. Never played Frogger either. Blimey, I haven't seen or done much have I! I'll check my Board Games book for Frogger, it must be based on the computer game. Our resident frog is still in residence and enjoying the last few day's heavy rain I reckon. A victorian sink apartment with pool and now showers!
