Marine Boy, on the other hand, was an excellent early Japanese Anime/Manga style cartoon, which, with its dynamic look, memorable characters and exciting concepts (I'm talking Oxygum here) was a worthy member of the lineup for 1960s children's teatime TV. Mish.
Oh yeah! THIS was the anime I grew up with! -Although I seem to remember watching it in B&W, so it must have been before my parents got a colour telly (I suppose my folks were carefully affluent, the 60's was a time of opportunity, my Dad bought a new Mini van, but it died off in the 70s, which is why I ended up in Australia... -but I digress)
All my Aussie mates had grown up watching Astro Boy or Prince Planet, but I missed out on those.
