Dunno Zigg. It looks original to me on first glance. Mercator is a toy figures sales website. Toy soldiers to me mean plastic - Airfix and Timpo and Britains. Lead, tin and die-cast soldiers are from an age before I came along and capture a world, yes lost in time like you say.
