LUCKY TOYS ROCKET CARRIER

I like this simple Lucky Toy Series Rocket Carrier I saw on an old sale.

The box art is quaint, almost naive.

That sextant rocket looks pops up on a number of toys I'm sure. Is it based on a real design?

Can you think of any toys with it on?

  1. I know Hugh at Small Scale World has discussed the origins of this launcher, I had it on a Blue Box army lorry.

I am not sure if the design is based on a real rocket or missile launcher, but the design looks very like an American recoilless anti-tank rifle with a missile mounted on the end of the barrel. There is even a sight on the barrel, and the 'box' at the end of the barrel looks like a breech block. If it is based on a RCL gun, then it is completely out of scale with the truck. Here are a few web sites with photos of the various US guns of 57mm, 75mm, and 106mm.

  3. It's a copy of the Lone Star die-cast, and pretty fictional I fear!

  4. This is a copy of the Lone Star Diecast Missile Launcher from the 50's. I have the launcher on a trailer version.
