Collected the McDonald's, Burger King, and Kentucky Fried Chicken children's meal toys for several years in the 1990s/early 2000s, but it just got too expensive - and ate up a lot of space. These chains all seem to be dropping, or have already dropped, their toys. A great pity, as they were good fun. Many had a movie tie-in, with lots of Disney, Batman, and others. Usually two sets were available at the same time, one for boys and one for girls. You can still find loose toys in charity shops and at fairs. There are also books available to help collectors. The exact line-up of the toys did vary from country to country, and some sets shown in American books never made it to NZ.
What have you done with your fast food toys Paul? Are they in storage? Yes its a shame these toys qill dissappear but its a sign of the changing climate times. All plastics may vanish one day!
I had to move to a smaller house a couple of years ago, and a great many boxes ended up in a storage locker, including my fast food toys. Even after more than two years I am still sorting through what is left at home, and trying put things into order. Still a long way to go.
