This amazing toy set I saw on on old Yahoo Japan site caught my eye.
It looks like Billy Blastoff to me like the stuff I had as a nipper.
This set is called Mr.Tomy Cassette Action Pilot by Tomy of Japan.
Is Mr.Tomy Tomy's original Billy Blastoff?
Anyone know?
I like the control tower and hangar models on the box top. Were these available as toys in their own right, or were they just background props for the box photo ?
ReplyDeleteThat looks like the venerable Japanese Art of paper modelling. How they ever get anything without fingerprints on it is beyond me! I have an image of a wizened Living Treasure hunched over a cutting board wearing white cotton gloves!
