I have to say I really enjoyed it. The acting is top notch, as are the effects. The opening plot held my interest, and as it's a long time since I've watched S.T.T.N.G. there was plenty of exposition for the more casual viewer.
Needless to say, Patrick Stewart as Picard, even at 79 is a joy to watch (I believe Jean- Luc is a 93 year old in the story)
Looking forward to next Friday and episode 2.
