LEWIS'S TOY CARS

Hi there! Your December post about the Hot Wheels and Superfast stirred my memories. I dug out the plastic photo lens case my father had given me to keep my Matchbox cars in.

I don't look at it a lot, but your post prompted me to do so.

Above is the Road Dragster! One of my favourites (although the factory seemed to have put the numbers on sideways!) You may be able to glimpse the Speed Kings fluoro pink Dodge Charger you also featured recently. Almost every one of the cars in this case has it's own story or memory.

In other die-cast news,

I recently reworked all my Home Cinema toy displays, giving my die casts new bases, often inspired by the original release toys.

Here's my Uncle Thrush Buster which I bought from a Brighton Antique Market for 18 Pounds. I just made a scaled down display based on the original art and bought a reproduction "Waverley Ring" which cost as much as the car! However the end results are very pleasing and given the stupid prices you have to pay for non-mint toys here in Australia, it's still a bargain!

And work on Steed's Rolls Royce continues. I'm having to scratch build new headlights, petrol tank and a folded down rag top....
