SPAMMED

Due to a substantial and irritating increase in the amount of spam comments the blog is getting over the last 2 weeks I'm turning on comment moderation as of today.

This will be a temporary measure and hopefully the wastrels leaving the pointless spam will disappear asap.

I apologise to regular readers for any hassle this may cause and ask you not to be put off commenting.

I'll keep you posted.

  1. Hi Paul, there seems to be a significant amount of SPAM doing the rounds at the moment, the level we're getting at the radio station has reached silly proportions. I think its to do with a security breach several of the big internet companies suffered a little while back.

As with all things it'll pass, although I've never understood why anybody would want to use up their time doing this. Most normal people have much better things to do.

  4. The Spam I receive doesn't even go into my Spam file anymore, it goes straight to my blog's comment submissions, which is irritating.

    1. I'm finding comment moderation irksome Kid. Each comment needs checking to see of its spam and then publishing. then I get a second email of the published comment. I don't know whether I'm coming or going most if the time! I'm now mass-editing in the blog's admin area, which is easier when I get chance at work or when I get home at 3.30 pm. Still, none of it is as irksome as getting masses of spam, which thankfully has reduced in amount this last week!
