Off the Rails

 As I have mentioned earlier, I am not a tinplate fan. But now and again, I will see something that I must have. Such an item is this lovely Bandai vintage locomotive.

I bought it loose, without any track or controllers and the rolling stock has had the original bogies replaced with plastic 00/H0 gauge wheels, but its still a wonderful toy.

Its probably more akin to Tonka pressed steel toys than tinplate, as its quite heavy gauge metal and the electric motor in the loco still works.

 Each part is about 7-8" long and when its settled on a standard Hornby track, it looks amazing. It won't run, but photographs beautifully.
