Scalecraft Catalogue Redux

I’ve posted this before, for the Billy Blastoff element, but I thought it’s worth flagging up again, to see the Scalecraft model line.

  1. Thanks for posting this catalogue page. I had no idea there were this many kits in the range though I thought there was a London Transport Routemaster Bus which isn't pictured.

  2. I think thats a mid sixties catalogue. Scalecraft ran for some time before and a while after. Ive got a Chieftain Tank, which replaced the Centurian - that I would have bought in the mid seventies, along with the Saladin. Last model I had was the Medway Queen, which my dad bought, ostensibly for me, but actually for him!

  3. Good call, Bill. I've not seen this before.
Some pretty cool kits by the looks of it! :)

  5. Yes, the Amphibian was the one which caught my eye, Bill.
I don't think I've ever seen any of these.
Or perhaps I just wasn't aware of them before?
Always nice to find out about these things though :)

  6. I would like the Aerocar and the Aquatank, please.

  7. This is a great image! The Billy Blastoff Space Scout came out in 1968 and sold through 1969 and maybe some of 1970. In 1970 - maybe at the beginning of the year or maybe for the Christmas season - the Space Scout set was overhauled to appear more NASA-like and the Space Gun was also dropped probably due to the same Vietnam war sentiments that tamed G.I. Joe in the states.

  8. I had both the AeroCar and the SeaCat at one time, the latter being a disappointment since the floats were never water-tight, making the toy pretty useless in the bath for example.

  9. Prior to those two I had either the BRM or Lotus 25 - apart from the fact that the parts very often didn't fit together particularly well, I was sort of obsessed by the range.
