MYSTERY TOY SPACEMEN: YOUR HELP NEEDED!

Philippe from Paris, France contacted me. Does anyone know the spacemen he has described and pictured?

I am wondering if with all your knowledge you can help me. I am looking for information regarding the attached spacemen. These are toys I was playing with when I was a kid (some 40 or 45 years ago, I am 55). 

I am French but I have no idea where they came from, my father was traveling a lot in the 60's so it can be from Europe or US. There is no trade mark of any kind. No one was ever able to find any reference.

    Approximately how tall are they? Using the skirting boards as a reference, at a guess I'm saying Marx, I have a western figure that's around 12cm tall!!- Mark J Southcoast Base

    They are smaller, roughly 5 cm (2 inches), approximately the same size as Timpo toys
