MYSTERY SPACESHIP ON THE IMPOSSIBLE WORLD

Taking a detour from Action Man covers for a day here's another old Curtis Books cover of interest. Maybe!

The Impossible World.

It shows a silver spaceship of sorts bristling with arrays and solar panels.

Knowing that Curtis liked to photograph toys and models for their covers I was wondering if this was a model.

Does anyone know?

  1. It looks like a Russian Zond spacecraft. Don't know if a model was available.

    1. Thanks Kev. That's it. Zond. I've had a look. Spot on. Its probably a real photo that Curtis Books have used.

  2. Think its one of the early Venus probes.Soviets named a whole sequence of craft Zond, as a generic title.

    1. Thanks Wote. What's that strange half-globe on the end of one panel?
