SCIENCE FICTION MODELLER: DORMANT BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Another bookmark I'm deleting, sadly this is a blog that has no activity on it since 2016 so I'll post a link here in homage.

Greg Martin's models are amazing. There's tons of  terrific models on this scratch builder's blog.  Many Gerry Anderson designs too and lots of buildings!

Enjoy an old blog http://gmart364.blogspot.com/2016/

  1. Those buildings are superb. I'd love to do something like that but it would need to be huge and I don't have the storage space.

  2. One of his posts from 2015 mentions that he was recovering from major surgery and had undergone 30 radiation treatment sessions.

  3. "Space Captain" Greg Martin died from cancer. His passing left a big hole in my life, I was looking forward to sharing model projects with him for decades to come. He had just retired and was FINALLY devoting all his energies to doing what he loved -creating Thunderbirds style model effects!
He is still a big inspiration to me and if I ever get my own magnum opus completed, it will bear a big thank you to Greg.

Here is the link to a very nice obituary that ran in his local newspaper.

    1. I am so sorry Lewis. That's so sad. I have read Greg's obituary today and watched his fabulous films on You Tube. He was such a fantastically talented model maker and film maker and it feels like he had the spirit of Derek Meddings in him. It must have been great to have known him. I have done a shirt tribute to him on the blog today.
