Scoop here, and pleased to report that hot on the heels of their popular showing of the UFO TV series here in the UK, Forces TV will be screening Space:1999 next month.

Generally speaking, my Space:1999 posts usually turn out to be my most popular on the blog in terms of views along with UFO, so based on that simple poll I should think that having Space:1999 back on UK screens should prove a winner for Forces TV.
I believe the series was shown recently on Comet TV in the USA, so it's nice to know fans in the UK haven't been left out.
So, time to plan for a few more Space:1999 posts...
Sounds great Scoop. Thanks for the heads up. Is Forces TV on Freeview?
ReplyDeleteYep, it's on Freeview 96, Freesat 165, Virgin 277,and Sky 264. It's current cult TV line up currently includes UFO, Special Branch, and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. I tend to flip between Forces TV and Talking Pictures TV thesedays, as I have little or no interest in the main channels.
DeleteTried retuning my telly Scoop and nope, still can't get Forces TV. Do you have to pay for it?
DeleteI checked online and it is free to air for Freesat, virgin and sky, however,if you've only got Freeview at home you can't receive it unless your TV or Freeview device supports HD or Freeview play.

ReplyDeleteThere's a little more info at this link.
Can’t wait!
ReplyDeleteWhen is it starting?
ReplyDeleteI've not read any official date, but some people have speculated that it may start when UFO finishes towards the middle of March.
DeleteLooks like it will start on March 5th.

ReplyDeleteChristopher Lee is in 'Earthbound', one of my favourite Space:1999 episodes.
DeleteIf u r a devoted Christopher lee fan SCOOP see my photo albums on FACEBOOK .
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say I'm a devoted fan, Gail, but I always enjoy watching his performances.I'm not really into horror films, although I don't mind the odd Hammer. I liked Christopher as Scaramanger in The Man with the Golden Gun.
DeleteI'll check out your Facebook page though.
Thank u Scoop, Christopher is quite good in thrillers and detective films like Police Dog, Sherlock Holmes and The Deadly Necklace.
ReplyDeleteNot all TV transmitters broadcast all Freeview channels. I think it might be the repeater masts that omit certain channels.
