THE YEAR OF THE EAGLE

2018 has been a great year for Space:1999 Eagle model collectors and Sixteen 12 Collectables has certainly been at the forefront.

As my Space: 1999 posts generally prove fairly popular here's a reminder of some of my 12" die-cast Eagle photos I've done this year.

The first of Sixteen 12 much anticipated die-cast 'Episode' collection model set debuted this year with the great looking Freighter Pallet  Eagle seen in the opening episode, 'Breakaway'.

These Eagle models have the added extra of much more realistic hand- finished aluminium engine bells.

Unsurprisingly, these models sold out pretty much as soon as their release.

During the next few days the latest Sixteen 12 'Episode' is set to be released and despatched here in the U.K..  The 'Immunity Syndrome' Eagle features it's own detachable Space Glider as seen in that episode. Hopefully I should be doing a few new photos of that model soon.

Above are a few photos I did not long back trying to re-create model scenes in the 'Immunity Syndrome' using Product Enterprise Transporter, and Laboratory Eagles', which had already landed on the planet.

Here's a few photos I did of the Product Enterprise Eagle on its own.

Finally, I tried a few shots trying to re-create a scene in the episode, 'All that Glisters'. Certainly not the best episode of the second season, in fact it caused a bit of a fall out between the actors and the management, but I did like the model set, especially the back drop.

  1. In all honesty, I can't see how better photos of these models could be taken. They look like particularly good publicity stills from episodes.
