HAVE YOU TRIMMED UP FOR CRIMBO?

Have you put your Christmas decorations up yet readers?

We haven't yet.

I've been trying to think when my folks did it but can't peel back the years enough to remember. I don't think it was any earlier than now. In fact I imagine it was a bit later in December.

Do you follow family or cultural tradition in terms of timing and style with your trimmings?

  1. Twelve days before and twelve days after! - My grandmother drummed that into both me and my mother. Curiously enough it was the same with my wife's family.

Its always been the case since Sharon and I set up home together. So very traditional here in South Wales.

    1. That is traditional Bill. 24 days of light and twinkle. Sounds good.

  2. I usually try and have the decorations up for December 1st, though usually I'm later than that. (Not this year.) I go a bit overboard, and because it takes me ages to get everything up, it wouldn't be worth the effort for just a few days.

    1. I like the sound of a long spell of Xmas decs and trimmings Kid. It always lifts the spirits. Not sure when ours will go up. We may do it with a friend who's staying next week! Get the guests workin!

  3. My tree topper has been – for about 20 years now – an old Imai Thunderbird 3 sprayed silver chrome and with the domed base removed. I never liked the inaccurate kit profile enough to display it, so it was perfect for this purpose.
