DIE-CAST SHADO DEFENCE SYSTEMS

Here's a few more revisited photos, this time featuring more Product Enterprise die cast models based on vehicles from UFO.

The SHADO Mobiles. Great looking vehicles and super display items. I think its fairly obvious I'm not one for keeping everything boxed up, and keeping everything minty mint. I know a lot do, especially those who have plans to sell them on one day, that's fine of course, but it's not for me. Once I've got them I like to enjoy them,  in particular when it comes to taking a few snaps, which usually involves covering the tracks and base in bits of sand and moss.

Skydiver 1: Another lovely design. The Product Enterprise version is quite heavy and not something that takes kindly to being suspended, hence I don't. The model is balanced on a suitably disguised stand giving the impression its floating above the sea bed - well I sincerely hope it does, anyway!

The SHADO Moonbase Interceptor; The Product Enterprise version has some lovely detail, and even though it's die cast its still a very delicate model, especially the landing gear. Admittedly, to be fair to the folk at Product Enterprise, they probably imagined collectors would either leave them safely in display cases or tuck them away in their boxes. Mine does spend some of it's time in a display case, and some of its time suspended  on wires against the black velvet of space....

The UFO: I'm glad Product Enterprise decided to include the UFO as part of the Interceptor set. As with all the P.E. models is a reasonable size to photograph. I should point out that the alien in the upper photo didn't come with the set and is simply there to create some sort of scale, which due to the Ufo's scale-less design is open to question.

Many of you will probably know that Sixteen 12 Collectables,  which as most people know by now  previously traded as Product Enterprise have recently announced that they are hoping to produce some brand new sets featuring vehicles from UFO next year. Two are highly detailed larger studio scaled versions of Skydiver and SHADO Mobile,  and for the collector of the smaller scale, Sixteen 12 hope to produce  a new set of three die cast  7" SHADO Interceptors complete with their own launch platform measuring 26" x 10".

  2. What I love about the PE models is that the clamshell design is so ingenious you can remove the models and replace them back exactly as they were.No superfluous twisties, tape or anything like that.Fabulous models!!
