MYSTERY ATTIC TRUCK FIND

I found this in my attic in a pile of old tat and toys.

Its a sort of Jeep or Pick-up style plastic car body.

It may have been detachable by design as I don't have the chassis.

Anyone know what it is? I don't.

  1. 1986 Lanard toys Stomper 4x4 truck. Top is designed to come off to put batteries in. A gear shift would have come up through the opening in the grey plastic cargo. Working headlights also. https://goo.gl/images/ZPntoV

    1. Superb Lance. Your toy know how is second to none. A Stomper eh. Fascinating. I may have had the chassis at one time. I recall those big tyres.I think they could split open.

  2. On the Stomper version of the Flex the tires do not split. Same with the Stomper version of the Animal, the claws are always out.

Galoob made large versions of the Flex and Animal where the tires reacted. If the Flex ran into an obstacle, the hubs moved in and made the tires balloon out so it could go over it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tPAktnTq9o
The Animal had 'hidden' claws that would come out (3 per each tire) when it encountered difficulty. People confuse the Animal with the Claw which on the latter, the tires would split open revealing claws and extend the overall size of the tire to clear an obstacle.
Both the Animal and the Claw can be seen in this commercial compilation video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy_vM7VzBn0 (also features a low quality of Tomy's Monster Machine that you might like)
