My toy Mod Monster Frankie wore a jacket called a Nehru.
The Fab Four did too!
Along with the Nehru jacket my Mod Monster wore a chain...
which did actually form part of the authentic Nehru look!
Even Karloff wore a type of Nehru in Frankenstein and Patrick McGoohan in the Prisoner.
As did David Bowie back in the early Sixties

I still do have a very nice Nehru Jacket. Black, and the buttons are some sort of Pewter like Alloy with a Celtic Knot-work design. I bought it about twenty years ago, and only wear it occasionally, so its still in good nick.

ReplyDeleteThe distinguishing thing about a Nehru jacket, is that it doesn't have lapels.
Bowies jacket in that shot has HUGE lapels, making it the opposite of a Nehru jacket.
