In sick bay waiting for a flu jab

Sat in the doctors waiting for a flu jab.

Feels like ive spent years in  waiting rooms for one thing or another throughout my lfe. Im sure i haven't .

As kids we adored playing doctors. The top job was field doctor in our garden war games. The field doc had a medic station in between two trees in our garden and was fully equipped.

It had a mock drip, bandages, a stethoscope and a syringe from my mates mum who was a nurse. There was a deck chair too!

You had to go to the medic if you were hit by a sekiden bullet or a johnny 7 missile or one of the countless home made toy grenades made from plastic bottles with a bit of water in for ballast.

Standard issue rifles were made from planks of wood and gate bolts to recreate the bolt action of a real one. Barricades were upturned sun loungers and deck chairs.

The aim of the battles was to take the other side's camp and put them all in sick bay!

Im still in sick bay waiting for my flu jab.

Are you?

Did you play war?
