TENTH BIRTHDAY NEW SWORD SIGHTINGS: SILVER TASK FORCE 2

This fine silvered Project SWORD Task Force 2 clone appeared on Ebay earlier in the year.

I saved the images.

Its new to the blog.

The cockpit blister is missing but there's a good view of the pilot.

The undercarraige is a pale greeny-yellow.

The engines are red.

Its marked Made in Hong Kong

The military badge I assume is USAF.

Bill kindly photoshoppied a cockpit blister onto the image to give us an impression of a complete ship.

We've seen similarly metalliced Project SWORD toy vehicles before and this is probably the missing vehicle in a range of three silvered Task Force ships called simply 'Space Rockets'.

The other two, one of which is carded, appeared on the blog previously here https://projectswordtoys.blogspot.com/2016/09/8th-birthday-party-special-silver.html

Anyone got any metallic or coloured spaceships like this?

  1. That is a beauty! Amazing all the strange permutations of spacecraft which made it to the lowly world of international toys!

    1. It is a lovely thing. Wish I had one Zigg but there are just too many SWORD knockoffs out there. I'd need to sell the house to get them all!

The insignia on the fuselage sides is an American 'star and bar', and is carried on the aircraft of all the American services: Army, Navy, and Marines, as well as the United States Air Force. This style, with the red stripe in the centre of the side bars, was adopted in 1947. Today, many aircraft carry low-visibility versions in black or grey, but the full colour type is still seen on trainers and some other aircraft.
