OUR 2018 NORFOLK ADVENTURE: IN PICTURES

Having just returned from a holiday in the East Anglian county of Norfolk, England, I thought I would share a few summer postcards of the things me and the Missus saw in this exquisitely fine place during the hottest summer on record [30C every day there]:

Our cottage sink window, which clinked with Hornet Moths at night

Jarrolds of Norwich, erstwhile printers of Century 21 publications including the 1968 Project SWORD Annual [whom I wrote to in 2015].

An ancient illuminated Norwich cellar, which made me think of Dr.Who and the Daemons! [read Scoop's ace 2015 article on the real locations of this fab Who storyline]

A Rietveld Chair for sale in St.Gregory's

Wroxham Marina

A copy of the flag prop used in the film Swallows and Amazons displayed in the fascinating Museum of the Broads

Kimiline III model in the Museum

Unknown vintage crane truck outside the Museum in a private boatyard

Museum panels about local power boat racer Tom Percival

The delightful Happisburgh beach

and its charming Lighthouse

A tin tin window display in Sherringham

The haunting and remote ruin of St. Benets Abbey

A yacht on the river near St. Benets

The windmill near How Hill Nature Reserve

The grand inner space of ancient Waxham Barn

More on Waxham to follow as well as some short clips.

Do you like Norfolk?

Have you got away?
