Colour Me Happy

Seeing Kevins lovely portrait of Kate Bush, a favourite artist of my own, I remembered my own artwork I created back in her heyday of 1978. At the time I had just started technical college on an Adverstising Design course and part of the summer coursework involved producing some drawings and paintings. I did the large portrait in Rapidograph pen and indian ink with a brush and the small pencil sketch just for fun. The colour chesspiece images were an interpretation of a objective drawing brief, so i chose the black Knight piece from a photograph and translated it into a fantasy piece along with the entirely made up Rook.

    1. I agree with Kev. Lovely drawings and paintings Bill. Kate B was unique amongst singers. A wonderful writer too. I like the two chess paintings as well, there's something fitting about chess and fantasy. Cant put my finger on it.

    1. Not heard any Bill. Will check it out. I loved all those ace Seventies famale rocky singers songwriters. I went to see Judie Tzuke who I adored and once danced in the street outside Linsey De Paul's London flat!
