SHADO 2 CODE 3

I had a little time to spare this week so I thought I’d give a battered and playworn Dinky Shado 2 I’ve had lying around for a while a bit of a cheap make –over.

I took off the paint with some left over paint stripper and once it was cleaned up, sprayed the whole thing with grey primer. I had a root in the bits box and found a driver that was roughly the right scale and some parts for the cabin roof and the track guides.

Once I added the cabin top detail and the track guides, I sprayed the top grill with a satin black and used ‘Hycote’ Ford Cuirass Metallic spray paint for the body and chassis.

Once I’d painted the thin red stripe, I added matt black for some subtle weathering, and then some white electricians tape for the stripes. (I may change those for something more permanent next time)

Finally, a few random decals from the bits box for a little added detail.  The only thing I need now is the lettering for the sides.

  3. Thanks fellas. Considering I only used what I could find in the workshop, it turned out rather well. I suppose I should keep my eye out for an Interceptor in need of restoration now. ;)
