KEV'S BLEEP FROM BLEEP AND BOOSTER

Hi,

I recently picked up a Bleep & Booster annual. I remember having this 50 years ago! Anyway, it was an annual of the very simply animated series shown on Blue Peter. It is thoroughly charming, so I had to make a replica of Bleep himself!

Take care,

Kevin

  1. Now there's a real 3D stop motion animation series I'd like to see made.
Cosgrove Hall, are you listening ? 'Bleep and Booster' please.

  2. Bleep and Booster was the highlight of Blue Peter for me. I even bought a video of them back in the '90s, and also have an Annual acquired not far on either side of my purchase of the video. Interestingly, when a Blue Peter 50th Birthday book was released around 10 years ago, B&B only got one casual, brief mention (blink and you'd miss it), without even a photo of the pair. When I later asked the author why, he said he just didn't have space for everything, but, to me, B&B were such an integral part of the programme, I considered their 'omission' from the book almost criminal. Great wee model.

  3. Thanks. That video you mention is, I think, the only one ever released. There are no dvd's. I've just started collecting Bleep & Booster stuff. I've got one of the 3 annuals and some of the Blue Peter annuals with their stories (the first 14 years of them, can you believe?).

    1. I've also got every Blue Peter book featuring Chris, Val, John, Peter and Lesley (plus a few more), so I have those B&B tales too. I must track down the other two B&B Annuals one day.

  4. A beautiful scratch model Kev and wonderfully photographed. I love the Bleep meets the Apollo Saturn shot at the end! It must be fascinating collecting stuff to with this iconic TV show. I've just had a look online at the four Pelham Puppets they released - Bleep, Booster, Trug and Rotundon. Have you ever seen them in the flesh?

  5. Is the VHS the Giant Brain and Soloron?

  6. Thanks. Yeah, I am really liking this sub genre. Never seen the puppets in the flesh though.

  7. I was amazed to read that Tim was actually an Austrian emigre living in Britain having fled Hiter's thugs.

  12. You could have worked for Pelham Puppets Kev! As to collectables I thought I saw a Bleep and Booster jigsaw but I think I'm misremembering and it was Space Kidettes. I may even have one!

  13. Haha! Yep, there was a jigsaw. I don't have it sadly.
