LET'S ROLL, KATO!

I'm not really an action doll collector, but I do like the Green Hornet and I couldn't resist this reissued Captain Action Green Hornet and new issue Kato doll by Playing Mantis from 1998. I'll do a fuller article shortly...

  1. Superb Scoop! great picture! I bought this brill re-issue as well in 2001. We were in New York City at a store called Mid Town Comics and there he was! I didn't get Kato though but I did get a re-issue Green Hornet lunch box. Some time after I spent a few years trying to collect the original Captain Action green Hornet outfit in loose parts. I used to set myself Ebay challenges like that. I got quite a long way and then drew a halt. i think I sold everything on my old toy stall http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vzG6KFRzLWA/WH9k5WT0qpI/AAAAAAAAv48/Lmjrp8djuQMKU1kp5nIQ3KpfKdd0KWLzQCK4B/s1600/DSC00659-707526.JPG

  2. You had some great stuff there, Woodsy, I'd have probably taken that Land of The Giants colouring book of your hands.
I must admit I'm quite fond of The Green Hornet as he's not really the traditional superhero type, plus I love his car - The Black Beauty. It's a pity the 2011 Seth Rogan film completely miss -judged the character.

  3. These Captain Action re-issues are great, in my barber shop I've got Lone Ranger and Tonto figures that were originally in my bedroom, it was western themed! No wonder I was single till I was 40!!- Mark J

  4. Nice choice of decor in the shop, Mark J.You'll probably know that the Lone Ranger is the great great grandfather of The Green Hornet :)
