VIRAL SUNSET

Last night's sunset on the hill.

It reminded me of those Sci-Fi movie openings from the 80's for some reason. Like this still from Virus 1980.

What's your fave 80's Sci-Fi movie? Just think of all those VHS flicks you watched!

  1. Saturn 3.A total cheesefest, sure, but I want to live on that remote station. With a babe like Farrah Fawcett(and NOT with a creepy mad doctor like Harvey Keitel).

  2. Flip of a coin for me, Woodsy. Top of the bill would be James Cameron's ALIENS, Ridley Scott's Blade Runner and John Carpenter's The Thing. One or two others would make the list as well. I think it was a good time for VHS sci fi and horror :)

    1. Almost the Unholy Trinity those Tone. Do you think the original Fifties Thing From Another World stands up well against the Carpenter venture?

    1. I think I have Salute of the Jugger on VHS Ran. Its Rutger Hauer starring aint it? Not familiar with Blood of Heroes. Who's in it? Never seen Fist of the North Star.

  4. Not a film, but the sunset reminds me of the bit in the Planet of the Apes tv series titles. The part with the mounted gorilla soldier holding his rifle aloft with the sun behind him.

    1. I see what you mean Kev, that POTA image is a classic! the other iconic image for me is in the first film with Charlton Athletic Heston where he rides along the beach to discover the fallen head of the Statue of Liberty! i think he screams!

  5. A spammed sunset! Just imagine if all light was digital. I suppose even the setting sun could be hacked, spammed and corrupted!

  6. We might be living in a holographic universe anyway! We could all be in a poster on some kid's wall!
