The Lone Star Captain Scarlet Anti-Mysteron Gun Toy Rifle

I've blogged this beauty before, the Captain Scarlet Anti-Mysterons Gun rifle. Last time was in my http://projectswordtoys.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/recycling-lone-stars-captain-scarlet.html

This week reader and collector Terry H has very kindly sent me these fab new pictures!

From a Lone Star catalogue from 1968!

Here we can see the said Captain Scarlet rifle at the bottom of the middle picture with the word NEW next to it. Its featured in the Captain Scarlet section of two pages of die-cast toy guns including the Saint and Amos Burke.

This catalogue entry confirms that the Captain Scarlet rifle was indeed made by Lone Star and first manufactured in 1968.

Here it is in colour as featured previously on MC.

Have you ever seen this toy rifle readers?

  1. It's a lost gem and nowadays it's (sadly) hard to believe that there was once a toy company (just up the road from me) that could make a steady profit from manufacturing a whole range of toy guns. I may be wrong but I'm sure they moved from Hatfield to (possibly) Denham before they went into liquidation ?
