It looks great!
There's a plastic bottle of coke, two baseball bats, some balls and a strange red thing.
Best of all is the random inclusion of the orange monster.
Now to me that monster looks like Rat Fink.
Is that right?
Rat Fink was the first thing I thought when I saw this.The red thing is a hot dog,the yellow part is the bun.When you go to see a baseball game here,you must get a hot dog and a coke.These days you can get gourmet fare at stadiums like The Linc in Philly or Camden Yards in Baltimore,but a hot dog is a classic!
ReplyDeleteExcellent Bri! there's a full hot dog in there! Was Rat Fink associated with Baseball? I've not had a hot dog in years. I imagine one of the biggest sellers here in the UK is IKEA. You can get one with ketchup, mustard and mayo in the foyer. Cinemas still do them but they are expensive. Did hot dogs start in NJ?

DeleteOh, I forgot your other question.Rat Fink is not associated with baseball.I guess the toymaker mistook him for a bat.A Bat Boy is an old time term for a person who retrieves dropped or broken bats during a baseball game
DeleteThat's Rat Fink. I had that exact "gumball machine" toy as a child in the Sixties (mine was yellow). If you purchase it and open the pack, you'll see a hole in his back. It was made to be snapped onto and/or removed from a plastic ring that came with Rat Fink; in other words, you could wear him as a ring.
ReplyDeleteSuperb fourcolorglasses! I didn't know that. I've seen the loop at the top of Fink for what I assume must be for a necklace but the ring thing is fab. I don't recall seeing a rat fink ring in my youth here in the UK but its sounds ace. We did have monster and Batman rings and whistling Bazooka Joe rings.

You can still buy this size figure at car shows in the US. Some you can get with a small tab with a hole at the top to put on your keychain. I picked up a couple (one glows in the darK) at the last car show I went to, I will see if I can find them and try to send you a pic.
