Our mission to visit James Bond World

Following local girl Diana Rigg's footsteps [she's from Doncaster down the road!],

a couple of summer's ago we went on a mission to Switzerland.

Not on her Majesty's Secret Service but on British Airways and Swiss Rail.

We bought a licence to thrill and visited Bond World on this beautiful peak known as the Shilthorn [not my picture - too good - its a swiss tourist board snap]

Where a cluster of buildings clasp the summit, the Piz Gloria.

There are murals

shops

and the famous revolving restaurant seen in the James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

You could get a 007 martini

or eat something

using the cutlery promoting the exhibition hall, Bond World

or you could just chill with a Coupe Diana Rigg ice cream

We had the soup

and entered the spectacular exhibition of Bond World.

before heading home on the multi-staged journey back down and to the first cable car station

and eventually to the distant mountain town of Wengen where we were staying and had set off from that morning.

It had cost an Agent's ransom but we had certainly been thrilled.

006.5 out.

Have you been to Piz Gloria?

Have you any James Bond toys?
