what's the best Christmas gift you ever got?

What's the best thing you ever got at Christmas as a kid?

Maybe it was a toy or a game or a jigsaw or even a book? Maybe even a record? Just maybe it was a pet!

As to myself I would say that the top spot goes jointly to the Haunted House Game [drop it down the chimney: video courtesy of You Tube]

AND the awesome action figures, Colourforms Outer Space Men.

What was that one gift that blew you away and stayed with you forever?

  1. A Hornby Dublo set of Silver King, the A4 locomotive and two coaches was Xmas 1955 or '56. I not only still have it but 5 years ago I started building a permanent layout featuring it and other Hornby Dublo 3 rail locos.

At the time I was told it was an expensive gift and that I should take care of it. I did.

  3. I got a lot of enjoyable mileage out of an Action Man Scorpion Tank. It was given as a Xmas prezzie by an aunt and uncle. Only the memory stays with me, Woodsy. Alas, the tank never survived the epic battles of childhood :)
