d.a.r.y.l. :forgotten eighties acronym

I've never watched the film D.A.R.Y.L from 1985.

I was amazed to see it involves one of my favourite 'Spacex' type designs, the Blackbird SR71.

As an Eighties sci-fi flick involving a kid I expected there to be loads of collectables but no.

There's a VHS video courtesy of my attic:

There's a film tie-in paperback

An LP record soundtrack

and a single from it by Teddy Pendergrass

There are also lobby cards and cinema posters.

Surprisingly I couldn't locate a single toy, game, jigsaw or model based on D.A.R.Y.L.

There is one knockoff toy, Thunder Ball, which as far as I know has nothing to do with the movie other than the lifted box art!
