Prototype Dinky SPV, Century 21 Props and Lunar Bug die-cast Toy Development by Gerald A. Wingrove MBE

I stumbled across this great site the other day, Film Props and Toy Development by Gerald A. Wingrove MBE.

There's lots for the space toy and Anderson fan to look at. What do you think?

Have you come across Mr. Wingrove's work before readers?

  1. I remember a coffee-table book in the 1980's by Gerald Wingrove, which included his Dinky and Captain Scarlet props work, but he was much more interested in his miniature reproduction motor vehicles! At the time I couldn't afford such an expensive tome!
I remember photos of the Anti Mysteron gun and (I think) the Mysteron camera, but I didn't know he made the BIG RAT chair too!

    1. That's interesting Lewis. I wonder what book it was. I'll have to look it up, although his website is very comprehensive. He does like miniature cars on there too. To be honest I have never heard of him but he must have been significant in the UK industries to ha e got an MBE. I did email him but didn't get a response alas.

  2. Mr. Wingrove's books are listed on his Wikipedia page

Could the book in question be The Model Cars of Gerald Wingrove (1979)?

    1. Superb link Arto. Thanks. You've just reminded me that I have Kleemput's Great Book Corgi somewhere in the attic!
