plastic swords graced my little hands

I had the pleasure of handling a plastic Katana on Saturday.

For those wondering what a Katana is, its a Samurai sword.

I was obsessed with Samurai swords when I was  young teenager so a plastic sword would have been an absolute boon!

The plastic Katana by Ravensden, complete with hand-guard and scabbard, was being sold in the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

Did you have any plastic swords and or armour when you were a kid readers?

  1. No, but I've got a replica of Duncan MacLeod's katana from the Highlander tv series. Not plastic though!

  2. Bought it years ago from a company in Spain that made them for the series! Took ages to clear customs!

  4. I think I had either the Adam Adamant or John Steed sword-stick as a kid. I also remember different coloured little plastic cocktail swords that used to lay in a sideboard drawer. 20 odd years ago, I bought a pack of them from Safeway and tucked them away in that same sideboard drawer - just to remind me of my childhood. Still got 'em.

    1. Just googled those two TV character sword-sticks. What amazingly non-PC toys we had back then! Superb Kid! and yes, I loved those sword cocktail sticks. I know just what you mean. Fantasticly bright colours I seem to recall and often with a glace cherry impaled on the end! Just what a glace cherry was I never knew but they weren't half tasty!
