ReplyDeleteI agree with Kev, its a stunning collection Tone. You had everything I had as a Kid and more! You even have the great Footballers, cricketer, racing car driver and at the bottom my fave the Life Guard. Did you have the racing car as well? What is the Japanese female doll?
DeleteHi Woodsy and thank you. At the time some of these old figures seemed so enjoyably challenging to find. It was my pre-eBay fun of the hunt days, with toy fairs, networking, phone calls, letters, postal orders, car boots, and ads in papers and magazines. My collection at the time focused mainly on boxed figures from the 60s-early 70s. They were the ones I liked the most and remembered best. I preferred the actual outfits off the card and on the figures, just as I would have enjoyed them as a kid. I've had a couple of racing cars over the years. I'll be happy to send you some pics to share on the blog. The car is simple, beautiful, and evocative of the era. The Japanese doll was Fujiko Mine, from the popular manga series 'Lupin III', by artist Kazuhiko KatÅ, aka Monkey Punch :)
ReplyDeletea superb collection Tone for sure and worthy of the great childhood memories you have. Action Man in the Sixties and early Seventies was an era defining toy. I loved all the ones I had too. Yes, of course, send pics of your AM racing cars. It was a brilliant toy!
