When do you give your prezzies to each other at Crimbo?
Do you have to drop some off in different houses?
What about in your own home? Is it Xmas Eve, Xmas Day, a mixture of the two? Do you give each other one present before the main event?
How is it in your house?
The four of us on Xmas Eve (after a scrumptious Chines fondue that has become our tradition), then over to the in-laws on Xmas Day for Mrs V's side of the family (with dinner afterwards). When my Mum was still alive she and Bruv and Mrs Bruv would come round on Boxing Day, but nowadays Bruv & his Mrs tend to spend Xmas elsewhere to escape the hustle.
ReplyDeleteAnd how about you, Woodsy?
Best -- Paul
Still up in the Xmas air this year Paul due to the new arrival. My daughter and partner aren't yet sure where they want to be. Prezzies are always opened first thing on Christmas Day next to the tree with a coffee in between and maybe a bacon butty. The doggy Blue gets some too, prezzies and bacon! I tried to introduce the custom of one prezzie on Xmas Eve but no one in the family wants to do it!
Deletegrowing up it all depended on whose house we were visiting Christmas morning or whether we stayed at home so sometimes it was Christmas Eve and sometimes Christmas morning. After marrying Bettina we're strictly on a Christmas Eve schedule :-)
ReplyDeleteMissus Moonbase tells me often of her Xmas Eve's on the Continent when the decorated tree was first revealed in the evening resplendent with candles. Childhood gold! Its Christmas morning for us though Ed but I do see the appeal of Xmas eve gemutlichkeit!
