Now that the last of the stuffing has dried up at the back of the fridge the Christmas meal is a delicious memory.
We had a traditional British afternoon meal of roast chicken, roast beef, gammon, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, mashed potato, pigs in blankets, sage and onion stuffing, cranberry sauce, European boiled red cabbage and apple, gravy and of course brussel sprouts. Delicious!
What did you have for your Christmas meal readers?
Bettina wanted me to make her favorite so I prepared home made Sauerbraten with gingerbread cookie gravy, served mit Rotkohl und Semmel Knödel :-) followed by a sip of red wine (had to use up the wine I bought for the Sauerbraten marinade)
ReplyDeletesounds sehr lekker Ed! What a meal! Coincidentally Tonight we are having Hackbraten and Knoedel! Koestlich!
DeleteMrs K presented a tasty Xmas line up of all the usual suspects at the table. Delicious they were as well. Now, I just need to figure out how to repair the havoc they've created around the festive waistline :)
ReplyDeleteTraditional and classic, I like it Tone. I hope Mrs. K. enjoyed her Christmas dinner too!
DeleteI went a bit Bavarian this holiday.Sausages and sauerkraut in a crock pot, potato salad, apple struedel and pretzels with cheese dip and German mustard.Lined everything up on the kitchen counter buffet style and let everyone build their own platter whenever they felt like it.
ReplyDeleteSounds delicious Brian. I love the idea of Pretzels and cheese dip! Where's my plate?
