Watched the first two. It is intriguing so far but it needs to start being more than just enigmatic if it is going to hold my interest for much longer.
yes, his 'agenda' is odd - to find the 'maze'. I can understand an android wishing to find it, a way out perhaps or a Matrix-like entry into the real world but why would a 'human' have need for a quest, malicious or benign, in a plastic world of robots? To take over? Hmmm.
I hated the film version and the sequel, Futureworld. Love the series, its Blade Runner crossed with Jurrasic Park and John Ford. I love the enigma and am pleased to see its not fluffed up with the usual pointless romance and uneccessary characters. Anthony Hopkins is flawless as ever.
How could you not like the film version Bill? Its got everything. And then there's Yul! Its Crichtontastic! The Medieval World segment with the Black Knight is sensational! Never seen Futureworld. Its on my bucket list.

ReplyDeleteHmm, I didn't think episode two was as good as one but its early days. In the original film Yule Brynner played the Man in Black didn't!t he?
DeleteYes, the gunslinger in the film was an android. In the series you are led to believe that he isn't and that he has his own agenda.

DeleteGutted I missed it, but will try to catch up. Didn't like the original movie, but the previews for Tv series look really good.
DeleteYou don't like the original movie either Tone? I'm in the minority here! It's a classic!
DeleteHaha... Sorry Woodsy... You're out gunned : D
DeleteYes, but you can't shoot a guest in Westworld. Damn, I'm the host! I'm dead!
DeleteNo need for guns, Woodsy. Lets just head for the saloon :D
